Meet my babies

Oh boy it sure has been a long day. I have recently taken up archery thanks to my husband, and his awesome friends that purchased me my first compound bow while he was deployed. My husband has been a hunter for most of his life, so it is nice to not only start a new hobby, but to have something new that he and I can enjoy doing together. So today I went with him and a few of his friends and co-workers to shoot my first 3D in the desert. After spending 5 hours in the hot Arizona sun, suffering minor sunburns and cactus injuries, and only losing 3 arrows, I would call it a successful day. Which was then followed by an even more successful 4 hour nap.

In other news, I would like to introduce you to my 2 fur babies! Growing up my parents never allowed my sister and I to have many pets. We did have a guinea pig, Reeses, at one point, and I was able to convince them to let me purchase my own hamster, whom I named Skuddles. Cute little thing, such a shame that I turned out to be completely terrified of it. We also had various fish for brief periods of time that we won from the local fair, and for reasons unknown I decided to all name Donald Rupert King Jr., but we could never quite convince them for anything more. As most young children experience, being told that I wasn't allowed to do/have something only made me want it more. So a few months after moving to Arizona my husband and I decided to adopt our first kitten from the local Humane Society. We named her Blondie, and she was the cutest little thing I have ever seen. Once we moved into a house on base about 6 months later, fate struck us and we were able to adopt a 6 month old Australian Shepperd mix from a family on base that could no longer take care of her. Her name is Sammie, and in my biased opinion she is the greatest dog ever. The two still have some relationship issues to overcome, rather entertaining fights between them occur almost daily, but I swear I don't know how I ever lived without them.

A rare moment in time that they were actually next to each other without fighting

Okay, okay I think by now your brain is on a cuteness overload so I will stop there. Point of the matter is that I am completely in love with my animals, and with all animals for that matter. I can't ever imagine living without them, and I hope to one day be able to adopt more. Ideally I wish that I could live on a huge farm and adopt all of the homeless animals of the world, a girl can dream can't she?

Well now that I have shared my amazing pets with you, I would love to hear about yours!

Goodnight world,

- Jenny

  1. Ahhh, little baby Blondie!! That picture is so cute. They all are. And I can vouch for Sammie being the best dog ever -- honestly, she is! It is impossible not to love her.
