Music heals us

Hello there!

I am not trying to neglect you blog. I just had a really bad migraine all day on Tuesday, even staring at the computer screen hurt. Then my husband and I had a small crisis with our puppy over the weekend. Friday night after we let him play outside for awhile, we noticed that his lip started to swell up. Then during the middle of the night he woke us up with swollen eyes as well, and he was itching like crazy. In the morning, even though the swelling went down after a few doses of Bendryl, he started breaking out in hives everywhere. Then we finally took him to the vet and found out he was just having a bad allergic reaction to some sort of insect bite. Luckily all is well now, and I have learned from this experience that when we have kids someday, I am totally going to be one of those moms that takes their kid to the emergency room for every little thing. I don't handle stressful situations well!

I don't know about you, but I sure am excited for this 4 day weekend! On Saturday we are going to Salt River, near Phoenix, with some friends. You basically just drink all day and float down a river with a ton of random people, should be interesting! I hope that everyone has a safe weekend and is able to relax and enjoy themselves!

Not too much else to report on this side of the country, so today I am going to share with you a playlist of some of my all time favorite songs. Does anyone else feel a strong connection to the music they listen too? I tend to remember situations throughout my life best by the songs or albums that I was listening to most at the time. Then, when I hear those songs again I am instantly transported back to that time in my life. I can remember what I was feeling during that time, the worries that I had, the laughter, and the major things that were going on in my life. Music plays such a powerful role in my life, and a lot of these songs and artists have gotten me through some difficult times. For instance, Mumford & Sons album Babel, and Lana Del Rey's album Born to Die and Paradise, got me through my husband's deployment. Whenever I was feeling lonely and out of place, these songs would bring me back to reality. What role does music play in your life?
